Test plates for our line-o-cut projects. Mythical object, mythical vegetation, and a mythical figure. As you can see my Eastern Art History class has been sitting at the fore front of my mind lately.

Printmaking

Dry point: scratching into copper. I will be doing 5 images with this same piece of copper, so scratching my image, then erasing or burnishing the lines I don't want there anymore, then drawing back into it.
Three diff wiping attempts on the same plate.

Collegraph Plate
This is my first time ever attempting printmaking. So far I am really enjoying what I have been doing. this print was made with a collegraph plate, where I cut into a piece of mat board and tore sections of it away to get the different layers. I could have also added things onto the plate to create different textures. my class used things like lace, string. seeds, fabric, etc. this is the test plate. the final project has yet to be complete. stay tuned. :)

the plate i made in order to create the above print.

Sketch

I have chosen to do the mandatory 30 min life drawings from bills class in one of the very familiar pocket sized green New Testaments. So these are some of my favorites so far.

one of my absolute favorites, just had a really great time drawing him.

a girl that happened to sit down in front of me while i was on a sketching kick in the sub. i like the paper in this cuz you can see though it, and some times it kind of leaks on to the page behind it.

Designing a CD cover Mock up.
The band I chose was Five Iron Frenzy, a Ska group with an upbeat sound that puts smile on my face listening to their songs about being the greatest geek in the school or making the best of a mediocre life style.

Sketch

Sketchbook sketches
I did these when I was hanging out in one building on campus a lot and started to see certain people over and over.
The top was dubbed Gloves, named for his habit for wearing biking gloves no matter the occasion. He also had the certain habit of interrogating anyone with a Mac as to why they did not own a PC.
The bottom is Casanova, always open to talking to the ladies and yet more of a buffoon then the smooth talking chick magnate he thinks himself to be.
